Description
Conduct validation of Interior Trim, Exterior Trim, Seating and restraints components. Develop DFMEA, Design failure mode and effect analysis for vehicle components. Develop requirements to define product and develop validation plans to ensure product meets defined requirements. Establish design validation plans based on requirements and design failure modes effects and analysis. Work with multiple suppliers, and test resources to ensure testing is done correctly and on schedule. Develop new test methodologies based on field testing results. Conduct testing on components, including environmental, mechanical, electrical, and EMC test cases. Maintain official test result documentation for vehicle platform. Support program deliverables by providing feedback about the status of testing and performance of the product. Perform CAD studies using Catia V6. Utilize JIRA, Smartsheet, and Jama. Less than 15% international and domestic travel to test laboratories or suppliers.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or Automotive Systems Engineering, or related Engineering field. Requires 3 years of experience in a Validation, Test or Product Engineer position working in the automotive industry. Experience must include: working with test methodologies for automotive interiors, exteriors, seats and restraints; establishing design validation plans based on requirements and design failure modes effects and analysis; perform hardware testing and validation on automotive components; performing CAD studies using Catia V6; and working with JIRA, Smartsheet, and Jama. Telework permitted within commuting distance to worksite. $155,000 - $195,000/year.
